The Captains Table

The best place table on Nantucket just got better. The Captain’s Table (Captain Nemo, The Nautilus, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, get it?) - our large, live edge wood dining table nestled into the front corner of our lively hole in the wall restaurant, shining with its beautiful coat of lacquer, beckoning the thirsty and hungry like an oasis in the Sahara while whole roasted ducks and 30oz ribeyes are shared and cocktail porrons and magnums of wine are passed from left to right in a frenzy of laughter amid a backdrop of lively… well you get the idea!

Join us this season at the Captain’s Table, where we will be giving parties of 2 to 11+ the chance to reserve the best table on island for one of two extended time slots.

  • Reservations available one month in advance (vs our standard 7 days in advance)
  • Ideal for groups of 2 people to 11 people *(see additional group size notes below)
  • All reservations are subject to variable food & beverage minimums (see below)
  • Perfect for any reason... large parties, intimate gatherings, casual get togethers or super special occasions!
  • 2 seatings per night allow each group to have up to three hours on the table
  • Concierge level pre-dining communication on request to help you pre-select food and wines

Sounds too good to be true? Well it ain’t. We’re doing it. Pulling out the stops to make one of the hardest to get tables on island that much more of an experience.

Seatings

  • The Sunsetter: The table is yours from 5:30pm to 8:15pm. Arrive at 5:30 and enjoy the entire time, or come fashionably late for a shorter dinner. It’s your choice as long as we are wishing you on your way at 8:15pm. 
  • The All Nighter: 8:30pm onwards for the rest of the night. Last food orders must be in by 10pm (later on weekends), but otherwise feel free to hang and keep the cocktails flowing for as long as you like (well until 1am) - heck at some point we’ll even let you pick the music. 


How to Book

  • Reservations times will become available beginning at 12:00am, one month in advance
  • Reservations will be accepted via phone/voicemail ONLY
  • Please call (508)228-0301 & leave a voicemail w/ preferred time & group information
  • All voicemails will be returned in the order they were received
  • Captain’s Table reservations are not available via our standard online system


The Fine Print

  • To be able to offer this level of service we are instituting table F&B minimums for all reservations. See chart below for specifics. F&B minimums are the same regardless of group size with no exceptions, and are all before tax/tip/service fees
  • A 25% deposit will be required at the time of booking
  • State tax of 7% & Kitchen Fee of 3% added to all checks
  • Nautilus reserves the right to add a 20% gratuity to all Captain’s Tables bookings.
  • Cancellations 10 days or more out - deposits become gift cards for future use
  • Cancellations within 10 days - deposits become non-refundable and are kept


Additional Details

  • The Captain’s table can comfortably seat up to 11, for parties larger than 11 we will reach out to discuss seating configuration options (if possible)
  • Our management will reach out to confirm reservations via email, and will provide guests with some helpful ways to hit minimums, including a copy of our dinner menu, cocktail and liquor lists and wine menus
  • Our sommelier will be available before your reservation to help with pairings or suggestions
  • Pre-ordering of feasts isn’t mandatory, but it is the only way to guarantee availability
  • Pre-ordering your entire dinner is also encouraged, but not mandatory. 
  • Our wait staff & sommelier will also be available during dinner to further refine your experience
