The Nautilus Restaurant Group is an incredible and unique place to work. We have three restaurants, all with their own character and personality, but at each we seek to find staff that share our passion for food, drink, energy, atmosphere, and social experiences. 

  • The Nautilus Pier 4 in Boston is a larger waterfront restaurant in the seaport with 165 indoor seats in four unique settings and another 50 seasonal seats outside overlooking the Boston Harbor. 
  • The original home of The Nautilus, on nantucket, is an intimate and energetic, with just 32 dining seats and 18 bar seats in a single small room with an open kitchen. 
  • Also on Nantucket we have the Gaslight, a Japanese Izakaya themed live music venue with about 100 seats in a variety of settings including over 20 seats at our wrap around bar and another 20 seats outdoors on our patio. 

At all of our restaurants we expect our staff to be able to consistently and professionally provide all of the necessary ingredients for our guests to feel empowered to simply let their guard down, enjoy themselves, try new things, and have extremely memorable sensory experiences. We want talented people with great personalities who are open to learning more in the world of food and beverage. We want those people to then be excited to share that knowledge with others. 

Nautilus Boston will hire year round.

The Nantucket restaurants generally hire more during Jan through May, but do accept applications year round as positions may open mid season.

Nautilus Nantucket Line Cook

The Nautilus Restaurant Group is now hiring for its 2024 season on Nantucket.  We have positions at The Nautilus and The Gaslight, both located in historic downtown Nantucket Island. We can provide housing, all you need to bring is knives, a good attitude, a strong passion for cooking, and a readiness to work and have a fun summer on the island.

The Nautilus Restaurant has 3 world class, owner-operated restaurants, 2 in Nantucket and 1 in Boston. The Nautilus Nantucket (opened 2014) is a 50 seat, high volume, high energy dining room is the hardest to get table on island. The Gaslight Nantucket (opened 2019) serves equally delicious food and is Nantucket’s only downtown live music venue. The Nautilus Pier 4 in Boston (opened 2021) is one of Boston’s top tables being featured on numerous best of lists and being named one of TImeout’s best new restaurants in the world after it opened.

Nautilus Nantucket Host

The Nautilus is searching for an energetic, enthusiastic Host to join our team. This is a seasonal position with a flexible schedule for a candidate who can start in April and work until late October or potentially a year round position for a qualified candidate.

Successful candidates will have a love for hospitality and thrive in a fast paced, energetic & team oriented atmosphere. They will enjoy building relationships with guests & community. As a lead member of our front-of-house service team, you will greet customers, make and confirm reservations.  You are responsible for both the logistic details, including reservations as well as setting the overall ambiance and atmosphere of the restaurant space, helping to create an environment where people not only have fun but feel relaxed, welcome, and connected.

Qualifications

Position Responsibilities

  • Make, adjust, and cancel customer reservations
  • Greet customers and guide them to their tables
  • Maintain guest relationships to promote repeat business.
  • Make quick, logical decisions under pressure
  • Ability to tactfully deliver unfavorable news to guests, and tactfully provide recovery

Nautilus Pier 4 - Line Cook

$23 to $29 /hr (including 3% kitchen admin fee), $1500 bonus after first 3 months
Overtime work available, flexible in times, paid time off.
Half of health insurance benefits are covered after the first two months of work.
Dental & vision insurance available.
